Hot extraction method: Applied to heat-resistant bioactive compounds, optimizing solvent factors, temperature, pH, and stirring speed.

Cold extraction method: Applied to heat-sensitive bioactive compounds, optimizing enzyme factors, solvent, temperature, pH, and grinding pressure.

NATURAL ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils are volatile, aromatic compounds that are insoluble in water. Various methods are employed, such as cold pressing, steam distillation, supercritical CO2, solvent extraction, and mold pressing.

Production methods of essential oils by PEROMA Vietnam:

Cold pressing method: Applied to fruits with peels like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and pomegranates. The oil-containing bags are located outside the surface of the peel, with a cellular structure that is fluid. The raw material is passed through a grinder, then through a hydraulic press, filtered, and the pure essential oil is collected.

Steam distillation method: Applied to materials with lighter oils than water, located deep within the plant tissue. The raw material is ground, the steam distillation process causes water to evaporate, and the oil is condensed along with the steam, followed by separating the water to obtain pure essential oil.

Supercritical CO2 method: Applied to materials with oils lighter and heavier than water. The raw material is ground, extracted in liquid CO2, and then the CO2 is condensed to obtain the oil.

Solvent extraction method: Applied to materials with low oil content. The raw material is ground, soaked and extracted in a solvent, followed by recovering the solvent to obtain the oil.
